Due to the effect on platelet aggregation acetylsalicylic acid may be associated with an increased risk of bleeding.Sside effects that occasionally occur are gastrointestinal disorders ( Nausea, diarrhea, vomiting and slight gastrointestinal blood losses and very rarely gastrointestinal ulcers may develop). In rare cases hypersensitivity reactions or liver and kidney function disturbances may occur.

Dizziness and tinnitus can occur as symptoms of overdose, especially in children and in elderly patients.

The effects of the following are intensified: anticoagulants, non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, sulfonylureas, methotrexate, sulfonamids and its combinations, valproic acid, the risk of gastrointestinal bleeding (when taken simultaneously with corticosteroids of alcohol), and the plasma concentrations of digoxin, barbiturates and lithium.

The effects of the followings are reduced: aldosterons antagonists and loop diuretics, antihypertensives, and uricosurics.

At low doses, acetylsalicylic acid reduces the excretion of uric acid. This can trigger gout in patients who already tend to have a low uric acid excretion.

Consult your doctor if you have hypersensitivity to antiinlammatory or anti-rheumatic drugs, in the presence of concomitant treatment with anticoagulants, in the presence of severe liver of kidney damage, and if you have a history of gastrointestinal disorders.

Medical products containing acetylasalicylic acid should be used in children and adolescents with febrile disease only after carful risk-benefit-evaluation because of the possibility of Reys’s syndrome, a rare but serious illness. Patients with bronchial asthma, chronic bronchoconstrictive respiratory disease, hay fever, or swelling of the nasal mucosa may react to aspirin with asthma attacks, localized swelling of the skin or mucosa, or urticaria more frequently than other patients

Surgical patients should consult with their physician concerning the use of Adamco Aspirin 100 mg.
