Adamco Products
Indications & Use:
Adavit VisionCare is used in the long term prophylaxis and treatment of many eye diseases. It is recommended for the following categories:
  • Those who wish to take additional nutrients to optimize the health of their eyes.
  • Those working in dim or very bright lights.
  • Students, drivers, computer users and other people whose occupation exposes them to continuous eye strain.

In addition,Adavit VisionCare is especially recommended for long term use in people at high risk of developing AMD even before the appearance of symptoms.

  • During pregnancy, vitamin A daily amounts from supplements exceeding 5,000 IU are not recommended.
  • Smokers should consult their doctor about the risks associated with smoking and using beta-carotene.

Adavit VisionCare is a specialized formulation for the protection of the eyes. It contains high-potency antioxidant vitamins (vitamins A, C, and E) in addition to selected minerals in therapeutical amounts exceeding what is normally found in non-specialized formulations.
Antioxidants protect the eyes and provide long-term protection of the lens and retina by protecting retinal fine vessels and minimizing the damage caused by free radicals (highly reactive and unstable compounds that  interfere with the cells’ ability to function properly). Antioxidants help keep eye-tissues in good condition structurally as well as functionally.
Clinical studies have demonstrated that this particular formulation of vitamins and minerals, when taken in the recommended doses, protects the eyes and vision and reduces the risk of developing advanced Age-related Macular Degeneration (AMD) by 25% and decreases incidents of complete vision loss by 19% (results of the 10-year long Age Related Eye Disease Study “AREDS”).
Age related macular degeneration (AMD) is a disease that causes the nerves in the central retina to degenerate. This results in the permanent loss of central vision and an inability to read and drive.
Risk factors for AMD include: aging, race (Whites are more susceptible), family history of AMD, eye characteristics (such as farsightedness and light-colored eyes), cardiovascular disease, smoking and hypertension.

Dosage and Administration:
The daily dose of Adavit VisionCare is 4 tablets (2 tablets, twice daily) or as directed by the physician.
Side effects: If taken at the recommended dosage, side effects are unlikely to occur.
Contraindications: Hypersensitivity to one or more of the components.

Specific benefits to eye health

Vitamin A Beta Carotene is converted by the body into vitamin A which plays a vital role in the functioning of the retina. It also has an antioxidant activity
Vitamin C A powerful antioxidant. Protects against oxidative damage to DNA, membrane lipids and proteins
Vitamin E Acts primarily as an antioxidant. Prevents the accumulation of free radicals and decreases lipid peroxidation
Zinc Needed to preserve vision. Zinc is a component of more than 300 enzymes. It is also present in proteins called the metallothioneins that are believed to provide antioxidant protection by scavenging free radicals
Copper Added to this formula because high levels of Zinc can cause a deficiency of copper. It is also part of the antioxidant enzyme superoxide dismutase (SOD)
